Course Closing Events |
| Lightning WCC is protected against lightning with Strike Guard by Wxline. The system is designed to detect lightning up to 20 miles away and is calibrated to sound the alarm when it detects one lightning discharge within a 5-mile radius of WCC. When the system detects lightning, a solid tone will sound and the course must be evacuated. When the lightning has passed and has not been detected with the 5-mile radius within 15 minutes, an all clear intermittent high/low siren will sound |
| Carts In the event of saturated ground conditions and impassable areas or when it is determined by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents that an unacceptable amount of damage will occur from cart usage, carts will not be allowed.A cooperative effort between the grounds staff and the golf shop will be to reinstate cart usage back to the golf course ASAP through continuous assessment of the golf course turf conditions. Although certain portions of the course may still be unsuitable for cart traffic once carts have been reinstated (ie. 6 & 7), that information will be clearly posted. |
| Play The course will be closed to play in the event of impassable areas, extreme saturation, flooding downed trees, or in general when turf conditions are not suitable and excessive damage could occur to our fine turf surfaces. The Golf Professional and Superintendent will make every effort to clearly state the course conditions and continuously assess the course for its reopening. |
| Frost In the event of frost delays, the course will remain closed to turf equipment, walking and golf until the frost has melted. Once the frost has melted, the course will be prepared for play as soon as possible. The grounds staff will provide the Golf Professional with regular updates as to when the course will be ready for play. |
